Summer Favorites

“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things”

While these are not necessarily my favorite things, Maria Von Trapp (or at least the musical version from the Sound of Music) may have been onto something with listing her favorite things.

We work so damn hard!! Why would we not reward ourselves with some of the things that bring us joy? When I say “saving without sacrifice” this is what I mean; pay the debt, invest for the future, and live the life you want to NOW.

It should not be a huge give-and-take scenario. Is there some give and take? Possibly. But you should not have to sacrifice and eat RAMEN for 6 years so that in 25 years you can really live the life you want.

Also, not everything needs to cost money. You can have free “favorite things” Whether they cost money or not you should take a moment to list things or activities that truly bring you joy.

Otherwise, why are you putting in all this effort?? Working just for the sake of working without taking moments to enjoy your life does not sound like fun.

Here is my list of Summer Favorites
